Beauty Tips To Keep Your Hair Looking Salon Fresh. DebClarkWard.com

Wet your hair and before you shampoo, take some of your conditioner and put it on the tips / ends of your hair to protect them from the sometimes drying effects of your shampoo.

Use salon quality products. I offer Pravana, Paul Mitchell and other products. Some of the cheap brands of hair products are very drying and strip your color. As they say, you get what you pay for!

Always use a comb on wet hair, a brush can break your hair causing frizziness.

Whenever you can, give your hair a vacation from heated appliances such as your blowdryer, curling iron or straightener. Most of us use heat on our hair every day and it can really dry your hair out.

When you go swimming in your pool or at the beach, use a plastic shower cap and put hair conditioner on your hair. This will be a great conditioning treatment for your hair and keep your hair away from the damaging effects of chlorine and salt water.

When it's raining or there is high humidity in the air and you know this is going to cause your hair to frizz up, here is a suggestion. Coat your hair with a light weight oil, then pin and twist hair strands and let hair air dry. Since oil is denser than water, this helps to keep moisture from the air out of your hair.

Blowdrying your hair with the heat on high might be a faster way to get your hair dry, but you are damaging your hair in the meantime. Gently towel dry as much water out of your hair as possible. Then use the cool or low heat setting on your blowdryer. As soon as your hair feels dry, turn the blowdryer off. Even a few extra seconds of blowdrying every day can add more damage to your hair.
